Introduction

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is gearing up to release the official notification for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2026 examination. Simultaneously, thousands of aspirants who appeared for the SSC CGL 2025-26 Tier 2 (Mains) on January 18–19, 2026, are eagerly awaiting their results. This examination remains the most sought-after route for graduates to secure Group B and Group C officer-level positions in the Central Government.

📅 Important Dates (Expected 2026)

While the official calendar originally slated the notification for March 31, a slight delay has pushed the expected dates into April.

📊 Vacancy & Post-wise Details

For the SSC CGL 2026 cycle, vacancies are expected to be around 15,000+. These are divided into various Pay Levels (Level 4 to Level 8).

• Pay Level-7 (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400): Inspector of Income Tax, Assistant Section Officer (ASO) in CSS/MEA/Railways, Inspector (Central Excise), Enforcement Officer.
• Pay Level-6 (₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400): Assistant, Divisional Accountant, Sub-Inspector in NIA/CBI, Junior Statistical Officer (JSO).
• Pay Level-5 & 4 (₹25,500 – ₹92,300): Auditor, Accountant, Tax Assistant, Upper Division Clerk (UDC).

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

1. Educational Qualification

• Essential: A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized University.
• JSO Post: Bachelor’s Degree with at least 60% Marks in Mathematics at 12th level OR Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as one of the subjects.
• Statistical Investigator Gr. II: Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics as a subject in all three years.

2. Age Criteria (As on 01.08.2026 – Tentative)

• Minimum Age: 18 Years
• Maximum Age: 27 to 32 Years (Depending on the post).
• Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwD candidates.

• Women / SC / ST / PwD / ESM: Exempted (Free)

💻 How to Apply for SSC CGL 2026

1. OTR (One Time Registration): Visit ssc.gov.in and complete your OTR if you are a new user.
2. Login: Enter your Registration Number and Password.
3. Application Form: Click on “Apply” under the CGL 2026 section.
4. Live Photo: As per new SSC rules, you must capture a Live Photograph using a webcam or mobile app during the application.
5. Payment: Pay the fee and submit your form.
