The Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA) has announced a significant recruitment drive for the Department of School Education. A total of 624 vacancies have been advertised for the roles of English Teacher and Mathematics Teacher on a contract basis.
This recruitment is part of the state’s initiative to strengthen the CBSE School of Excellence scheme. Selected candidates will be engaged for a period of five years with a fixed monthly honorarium. The selection process will be strictly based on a Computer-Based Test (CBT), ensuring a transparent and merit-based appointment.

1. Important Dates & Application Fee
Candidates must complete the One-Time Registration (OTR) on the HPRCA portal before applying.

2. Eligibility Criteria (as of 21.02.2026)
A. Educational Qualification
- English Teacher (Post Code 26002):
- Post Graduation: M.A. in English.
- Graduation: Min 55% marks in English (50% for SC/ST/OBC).
- B.Ed: Must have English as a compulsory teaching subject.
- Mathematics Teacher (Post Code 26003):
- Post Graduation: M.A./M.Sc. in Mathematics.
- Graduation: Min 55% marks in Mathematics (50% for SC/ST/OBC).
- B.Ed: Must have Mathematics as a compulsory teaching subject.
- Additional Condition: Must have passed Matric/10+2 from an institution in HP (waived for Bonafide Himachalis).
B. Age Limit
- Minimum Age: 25 Years
- Maximum Age: 45 Years
- Note: No age relaxation is applicable for any category for these specific posts.
3. Selection Process & Syllabus
The selection will be finalized based on the merit of a Computer-Based Test (CBT).
- Total Marks: 120 Marks.
- Duration: 1.5 Hours (90 Minutes).
- Type: Objective MCQs.
Syllabus Focus:
- Subject Domain: Advanced knowledge in English Literature/Grammar or Mathematics (Graduate/Post-Graduate level).
- General Awareness: Knowledge of Himachal Pradesh, Current Affairs, and National/International events.
- Aptitude: Reasoning, Teaching Methodology, and Logical Thinking.
