Bihar Police SI Selection Process
The selection process consists of four major stages:
- Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
- Main Written Examination (Objective Type)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST)
- Medical Examination & Document Verification
1. Prelims Exam Pattern (Stage 1)
The Preliminary exam is qualifying in nature. Candidates must score at least 30% marks to be eligible for the Mains.

- Negative Marking: 0.2 marks for every wrong answer.
- Total Selection: 20 times the number of vacancies will be selected for Mains.
2. Mains Exam Pattern (Stage 2)
The Mains exam consists of two papers.
Paper 1: General Hindi
- Questions: 100 | Marks: 200 | Time: 2 Hours
- Note: This is qualifying only (30% marks required). Marks are not added to the final merit.
Paper 2: General Studies
This paper determines your final merit list ranking.
- Questions: 100 | Marks: 200 | Time: 2 Hours
- Subjects Covered: General Science, Civics, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics, and Mental Ability.

- Shot Put (Gola Fek): Male (16 lb for 16 ft) | Female (12 lb for 10 ft).
