Introduction

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has brought much-needed clarity to thousands of aspirants by releasing the official examination timeline for CEN 06/2025 (NTPC Graduate Level). Following the successful verification of application statuses on January 20, 2026, the board has confirmed that the CBT-1 examination will be conducted across multiple shifts between March 16 and March 26, 2026.

This recruitment is a golden opportunity for graduates to secure positions in the Indian Railways with competitive pay scales (Levels 4, 5, and 6). The exam will be a screening test, and candidates must perform exceptionally well to qualify for the second stage (CBT-2). The Exam City Intimation Slip is expected to be live on March 6, 2026, allowing candidates to plan their travel well in advance.

2. Selection Process & Exam Pattern

The selection involves a multi-tier process to filter the best talent for the Indian Railways.

CBT-1 Exam Pattern (Common for all Graduate Posts)

  • Duration: 90 Minutes (120 Mins for eligible PwBD)
  • Total Questions: 100 Objective Type
  • General Awareness: 40 Questions
  • Mathematics: 30 Questions
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 Questions
  • Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.
