Introduction
The Madhya Pradesh Computer Proficiency Certification Test (CPCT) serves as the standardized assessment for computer and typing skills in the state. According to the government order dated February 26, 2015, a valid CPCT scorecard is essential for various roles like Assistant Grade-3, Data Entry Operator, Steno-Typist, and IT Operator in all government departments of Madhya Pradesh.
The upcoming March 2026 cycle is one of the key opportunities this year for aspirants to secure a scorecard that remains valid for 7 years. Candidates will be tested on their theoretical knowledge of computer systems as well as their practical typing speed in both Hindi and English.

1. Important Dates & Application Fee

2. Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification: Must have passed 12th Class (Intermediate) from a recognized board OR hold a 10th Class + 3-year Polytechnic Diploma.
- Age Limit: Minimum 18 years as of the date of registration. No upper age limit.
- Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
3. Exam Pattern & Syllabus
The test lasts for a total of 150 minutes (including transition time) and is divided into two mandatory sections:
Section A: Computer Proficiency (MCQ)
- Questions: 75 Questions (1 mark each).
- Time: 75 Minutes.
- Qualifying Marks: 38 Marks (50%).
- Topics: Computer Hardware/Software, IT Skills, Networking, MS Office, Reading Comprehension (5 Qs), Maths & Reasoning (12 Qs), and General Awareness (6 Qs).
Section B: Typing Test
- English Typing: 15 minutes (Qualifying Speed: 30 NWPM).
- Hindi Typing: 15 minutes (Qualifying Speed: 20 NWPM).
- Hindi Keyboard Layouts: Remington (GAIL) or Inscript.

cpct.mp.gov.in. - Click on “Register Now” to create your profile using Aadhaar, mobile, and email.
- Log in with your system-generated User ID and Password.
- Fill in personal and educational details (10th/12th/Diploma Roll Numbers).
- Upload your recent photograph and signature.
- Pay the ₹660 fee and submit. Take a printout of the confirmation page.
