Introduction

The Bundelkhand University, Jhansi, acting as the nodal university for the academic year 2026–28, has invited applications for the UP B.Ed. Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) 2026. The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) remains the most critical professional degree for candidates aspiring to become teachers in primary, secondary, and senior secondary schools in Uttar Pradesh.

The recruitment for the 2026 session officially kicks off with the registration process in February 2026. This year, the exam will be held in offline (pen-and-paper) mode across various districts of Uttar Pradesh. Admission will be strictly based on the merit rank obtained in the entrance test followed by an online counseling process.

1. Important Dates & Application Fee

The notification was released on February 1, 2026. Candidates are advised to apply early to avoid last-minute server issues.

2. Eligibility Criteria (as of 01.07.2026)

A. Educational Qualification

  • General & OBC: Graduation or Post-Graduation with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
  • Engineering Graduates (B.E./B.Tech): Minimum 55% marks with specialization in Science and Mathematics.
  • SC/ST: Pass in Graduation or Post-Graduation (No minimum percentage required).
  • Appearing Candidates: Students in their final year of graduation can also apply, provided they produce their results during counseling.

B. Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 15 Years.
  • Maximum Age: No upper age limit.

3. Exam Pattern & Marking Scheme

The exam consists of two objective papers, both mandatory.

Paper 1 (Morning Shift):

  • General Knowledge: 50 Qs (100 Marks)
  • Language (Hindi/English): 50 Qs (100 Marks)
  • Total: 100 Qs / 200 Marks | Time: 3 Hours.

Paper 2 (Afternoon Shift):

  • General Aptitude Test (Reasoning/Maths): 50 Qs (100 Marks)
  • Subject Ability (Arts/Science/Commerce/Agri): 50 Qs (100 Marks)
  • Total: 100 Qs / 200 Marks | Time: 3 Hours.

Negative Marking: -0.33 marks for every incorrect response.

How to Apply Online?

  1. Visit the official portal of BU Jhansi and look for the “UP B.Ed. JEE 2026” link.
  2. Complete the New User Registration with basic details and generate a User ID and Password.
  3. Log in and fill in the personal, academic, and weightage details.
  4. Upload scanned copies of your Photo, Signature, and Index Fingerprint.
  5. Select your choice of Exam Centers (at least 5 preferences).
  6. Pay the application fee online and print the final confirmation page.
