📈 Career Growth & Promotion Path
SBI offers one of the best internal promotion policies in the banking sector. A Junior Associate can reach high managerial levels through two channels:
- Fast Track Channel: After 3 years of service, you can appear for internal exams (after clearing JAIIB/CAIIB) to become a Trainee Officer (TO), which is equivalent to a Probationary Officer (PO).
- Normal Track Channel: Based on seniority and suitability after 6 years of service.
Hierarchy:
Junior Associate → Trainee Officer (JMGS-I) → Assistant Manager → Manager → Chief Manager → AGM → DGM.
📝 The Final Hurdle: Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
Even if you clear the Mains cutoff, your selection is provisional until you pass the LPT.
- Exemption: If you studied the local language in 10th or 12th grade and have it on your marksheet, you are exempted.
- Test Details: If not exempted, you must clear a test involving reading, writing, and speaking the local language. Failing this test results in immediate disqualification.
