Introduction
In a major reform under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) has officially announced the reintroduction of the 1-Year B.Ed Programme starting from the 2026-27 academic session. This fast-track course is specifically designed for candidates who have already completed their post-graduation or a 4-year undergraduate degree, allowing them to enter the teaching profession more efficiently.
This move marks a shift back from the mandatory 2-year model introduced in 2014, providing a specialized pathway for academically strong candidates.
